Please evaluate my post titled " I am not a Densha Otoko (Train Man)"

   This is a summary about my overall blogging experience since September. It introduced to me wat blogging really is. I read a lot of blogs. They are mostly about finance, politics, gaming and new gagdets. I never write a blog b4 but I enjoy reading blogs from other people. I learn a lot from reading other people’s blog. For example, wat should we do under QE3?? Should we launch national education? Wat games and gagdets are going to be released this month. Any new movie and game trailers?? I usually read these blogs.  I thought it was easy to write a blog b4. It isn’t indeed. I write one post per week. I found it difficult to come up with new topics and ideas each week. And wat I read are daily blogs. Writers update their blogs every day. I am impressed by their large amount of ideas and knowledge.

“Oooosh, wat should I write this week.”

“Omg, I cant come up with new topics”

“Come on, gimme some hints’

My mind keeps saying these every Wednesday night. I have to struggle. A? B? C? A sounds interesting but the content seems to be inappropriate. B has too little information. C is the best but less attractive. I need a lot of time to decide a topic.

Once my topic decided, I come up with another question. How do I write in an interesting way? adding pictures? Videos? Hyperlinks? I have to make so many decisions. However, the most important thing is that, I am so satisfied when my new posts are finished. Today, I am happy to have 5 posts written. This is my first time to have hand-on experience in blogging.  

I guess my blogs are not good enough. I need to pay more attention on the layout. I need to work harder on the language, how to better utilize pictures and videos etc.  

Blogging improves my writing on new media. In primary and secondary school, we learn how to write formal passages. The layout is set. Language is set. Everything must be formal. Genre must be appropriate. Words are carefully chosen. We are trained to sit in public examinations. Blogging is a new writing experience to me. Online language is forbidden in assignments. I only use it in my gaming field or to communicate with net friends. This time, my assignments encourage me to use online language. Careless grammatical mistakes are acceptable (I still try my best to avoid them).

Plus, my blog is open to public. My friends know my blog even I try to hide it. I dunno how they find my blog. They read my every blog post. They spread in whatsapp group. They pasted my blog. My friends laughed at me after they read my blog (EDITH LEUNG laughed the loudest)  L

“How can you write those stupid things on your blog. You are university student. Come on.”

Idc wat ,why and how my friends laugh at. I am happy that my blog brings them happiness. HAHA

this is  DISHONORED (A NEW GAME RELEASED THIS MONTH)

this video is a game INTERACTIVE trailer. Yes, u can interact with the video. In the video, the main character infiltrated into a building. Then, u can choose the following actions for character,such as sneak, attack and blink. Audiences are rediected to different related videos according to selected actions. This interactive video is very funny. You must watch this.

How to get attention is an important issue in writing for new media, such as blogging, facebook etc.

Whenever u post sth on the net, u write for audience. You are writing for some people. You are happy if many people read your latest blog or updates in facebook. You are happier if they like.

I do not update my facebook very often. ofc, if I do, I use some methods to attract other people

for example,

 I used some videos, pictures to attract audeince.

Also, I tried to tell others the cheapest way to have McDonald. haha. It did attract some people and asked me how to do so.

because 2 french  fries + 2 wings + a burger and a soft drink only cost $28

I tell my friends the cheapest way to have much food in McDonald.

Last lesson

" I know there is a gamer in this class. I dunno if he is here today" says Christoph, our professor 

" Yes, I am",  I raised my hand and answered the question.

 Then, Christoph asked me a few questions in order to explain to class wat online affinity spaces is.

 We talked about wat games do I play. How much time I spend on videos games per day. How does the game run. How is my progress in the game. Is my character top- leveled? bla bla bla. 

 At that time, the class laughed because gamers are deemed as DENSHA OTOKO (TRAIN MAN) in Hong Kong. 

Train Man is a person who likes to read comics and plays video games. Train men like to stay at home. They  seldom go out. 

HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO DECLARE THAT

 I AM NOT A TRAIN MAN, ALTHOUGH I LIKE TO READ COMICS, PLAY VIDEO GAMES AND STAY AT HOME.

I am still a independent, sociable, talkative person. 

PLEASE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ME. 

I am happy to talk with different people especially my classmates.

I would like to explain more wat online affinity space is in this post by my experience in MMORPG game. 

Guild Wars 2 is a MMORPG game which I played the most in this month. 

MMORPG game is a good example of online affinity space.

Online affinity space refers to a place wherein people interact with each other, often at a distance, primarily through shared practices or a common endeavour and only secondarily through shared culture, gender, ethnicity or face-to-face relationships.

Thus, I always engage in this kind of online affinity space. 

I play this game with some online friends who I never meet in reality. But, in the game, we interact with each other. We play tgt every night after we get off from work or school. We talked in the game channel. People ask for places that are good for leveling up or treasure hunting. THIS IS INTERACTION.

We joined the same guild, a group for players. There are many guilds in the game. Since we are from Hong Kong, we joined a guild that only available for Hong Kong people. This generates some kind of IDENTITY. 

Also, there are different classes in the game. You can be warrior, ranger, guardian etc. Many classes are available. Another identity is created. Each player represents different classes.

For example, 

in classes, I am a student of Christoph. He is my professor. He teaches me. I learn from him.

but, if he also plays GW2, somethings change.

Since i am a student only, I have more time to play this game. I have more knowledge about GW2.

in game, Christoph may ask me places that are good for leveling up. I probably take the lead in game. I tell him where he should go when we are in guild battles in order to increase his survivability. I suggest him ways to finish some missions in the game. 

This online affinity space changes the identity.

Moreover, MMORPG game generates other kinds of online language. People do not know if they do not play games. For example

Feeder : player who always die. Killed by enemies provides money and items which loses the game.

Rax : towers and barracks that defend the main building.

Tank : a role of player in the game. Tank usually absorb damages from enemies and protect other players

Carry: a rold of player in the game. Carry is the key of the game. Well-played carry wins the game

Ofc, I am not going to list all online languages here. I just give some examples to show wat online affinity space is and how does it affect people/

New iphones are available few weeks ago. it is out of stock in many places including Hong Kong. I even cant get one even I have cash in my hand L. but that one is not for my own consumption. I just want to resell it to make profit and this is my only purpose to buy iphones. The standard price for 16gb iphone 5 is only 5588. 16gb Black iphones can be sold at 8XXX in Monk kok. Wat a huge proft Lamo.  However, wat really makes iphone so popular. I dun freaking understand this.

Apple computers are wooden (shhhhhh).  W8! Do not spread among ifanboys/ifangirls. They are irrational

   There are so many platforms available for smartphones and tablets. Android. Window Phone. Y the tell I need to use apple products which are USER UNFRIENDLY.

“HEY, gimme some examples. Iphones are well-known for their user- friendliness”

  says IFANBOYS *holds up 2 fingers*

“OMFG, a u joking dude. FLASH??? ITUNES?? . I have so many examples. Do u want all?” says apple hater

1.    Price

Iphone is expensive. $5588 is not a good price which is already the cheapest if u buy the gadget only without other services. However, other platforms have a lot of mobiles that allow wide range of choices. To take android as an example, I have seen the lowest, $8xx for an android smartphone which is made in China. It is cheap but the quality is decent. U can buy the latest android smartphone Samsung (“shamesung” on net) S3 LTE which costs almost $6000 with very good quality. So, it is not worth to spend five thousands something on iphone. There are definitely better choice than iphone if u can afford five thousands above.

2.    No flash on iphone

Do u know how important flash is on gadgets, esp smartphones. Youtube needs flash. Facebook games need flash. Online streaming videos need flash. BUT IPHONE DOESN’T NOT SUPPORT FLASH!!! Do you know how frustrated I am when I am unable to watch youtube videos or online streaming videos, like Justin.tv (JTV as I called lol). Can u imagine…. I am lying on the bed using iphone. I am going to watch the latest game trailers, such as HALO4 or BIOHAZARD 6. WTF?? . I cant watch the video??? I m sure all iphone users know how sad I am. I M SURE!

3.    No alternative battery

  I reli cant accept this one. U cant change battery. It is set inside the device. ‘This is apple style’ says ifanboy. Most of the mobiles have alternative battery. I must bring more than one battery for my mobile. As all of u know, the battery cant last long in smartphones. My friends using iphones always ask me if I have charger for their iphones. But I dun have for sure. NO WONDER HAHAHA. It is convenient to have alterative batteries.

My digital life is all about gaming. My dad bought me first console, Sega Saturn when I was a kindergarten student. Since then, I have been playing video games every day. I must spend some time on gaming. Otherwise I can’t sleep.
